Welcome!

Dear parents, friends and families of Red Caboose,

Today The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (WDCF) notified us through our attorney that they are reinstating the license of our center.  As part of the agreement, there will be some new policies, procedures and training put in place to better protect the children and families that we hold so dear.

There will be some consequences to the investigation. The WDCF will monitor the new policies, reporting requirements and training initiatives. We have been fined $3000, and our Youngstar rating will drop from 5-stars to 2 stars through January 3, 2015. We will be allowed to resubmit materials for accreditation at that time.

But please be assured, the quality of care children see at the center will be unparalleled. We are committed to being even more vigilant, and to make sure your lives and routines are not disrupted going forward.

We’d like to offer a special thanks to our parents and our community for the overwhelming outpouring of kindness and support received in the past few weeks. We are humbled to be a part of your lives and grateful to be able to care for the family members you hold closest.

The reinstatement also means we can begin enrolling children at the center again. Wisconsin Shares will also be reinstated. The after school programs at Marquette and Lapham were not affected by the revocation and continue to enroll students for the fall.

We promise to keep you updated in a timely fashion with any additional developments. Meanwhile, we will continue to do what we do best – provide excellent care and education to young children and support for their parents.

Sincerely,

The Red Caboose Board of Directors and staff
